    Mid Africa Aviation Company Ltd (Trading as Fly Mid Africa) is in the business of air transportation and related services based in Banjul, The Gambia. The Company, wholly owned by three (3) Sudanese investors, was incorporated in April 2014 initially as an assets management entity and immediately placed seven (7) aircraft on the Gambian civil aircraft registry.

    The Company successfully engaged in businesses like:

    • Pre-financing aviation equipment purchases;
    • Leasing aviation equipment to third parties; and
    • Lease purchases;

    As at 31st December 2016, Mid Africa Aviation aircraft fleet counts thirteen (13) B737-Classic, three (3) Fokker 50 Turbo-prop, one (1) EMB 135 Executive Jet, One Cessna Citation-3 Business Jet and one (1) D0328 Business Jet, again all our aircraft registered in The Gambia. Eleven (11) out of the thirteen B737-Classic aircraft are currently operating dry leases with operators around the world, whilst two (2) are readied to be deployed for the scheduled flight operations out of Banjul, The Gambia. The EMB 135, Cessna 650 and DO328 have also been placed with two different operators and are mainly engaged in VIP charter operations. The three (3) Fokker 50s are undergoing pre-delivery maintenance checks.



    Having concluded all operational and commercial arrangements for flight operations, Fly Mid Africa is poised to launch its maiden flight on the 15th May, 2017 with services from Banjul to Dakar, Freetown, Accra and Lagos. Services will be operated with two Boeing 737-Classic aircraft; B737-300 (8 Business Class and 124 Economy Class seats) and B737-400 (16 Business Class and 116 Economy Class seats).

    On Tuesday 25th April 2017, Fly Mid Africa approved a cutover with its global distribution partners SITA and AMADEUS to download the airline’s products in the Global Distribution System (GDS). Effectively, Fly Mid Africa’s air tickets are now sold at partner travel agencies in target markets; The Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Nigeria. Air tickets are also sold at the Company’s head office on 32ª Brusubi Phase II on Brusubi-Sukuta Highway.



    Shareholder’s decision to venture into commercial flight operations is premised on the desire to alleviate the suffering of travellers within West Africa, mostly within Anglophone West Africa. Quoting from His Excellency Soulayman Daramy, the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to The Gambia, “I am contemplating flying out of the continent with a Europen carrier and then take a connecting flight from Brussels to Sierra Leone”. Ambassador was planning to fly to Sierra Leone from Banjul, The Gambia for easter. “This is the quickest route” Ambassador concluded. Ambassador’s tale of two continents, dreaded by thousands of travellers within West Africa, ranked high in the raison d’etre of Fly Mid Africa.
